Zulema “Lupe” Gamez-Amaya, PT, DPT, MFDc

Lupe was born in El Salvador and grew up playing competitive soccer. She was introduced to physical therapy as an adolescent after sustaining multiple Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. Experiencing physical therapy first-hand taught her about the benefits of physical therapy in regaining and optimizing physical function, as well as its potential to positively affect a person’s emotional well-being. As a practicing clinician, building a strong patient-therapist alliance like the one Lupe had with her therapists as a young girl is foundational in her practice. Lupe attended San Francisco State University where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2016 followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of California San Francisco, San Francisco State University in 2021. Lupe became Myofascial Decompression certified (MFDc) and joined MORE in 2021 as well. She works as a staff therapist at our Los Gatos location. Lupe enjoys jogging, dancing, biking, and spending time with family and friends. In addition to English, Lupe speaks Spanish.
