An orthotic is a device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most
anatomically efficient position. Prescription biomechanical foot orthotics
allow the feet and legs to function more normally by maintaining the proper
angular relationship between the bones of the feet and leg.
Unlike the generic orthotics
that you can purchase over the counter, MORE's custom orthotics are created to
exactly fit the specific needs and unique characteristics of your
anatomy. We take detailed measurements of your feet, which
allows corrective modifications to be built into the orthotic at specific anatomical
landmarks. Plaster molds of the feet are made and corrective postings are added to
further assist in controlling and realigning the foot. The molds are then sent to our
orthotic fabricator and in a few weeks the finished orthotics are ready to wear.
If you experience fatigue or tired legs during routine activities or
if you are experiencing foot pain, you may be a candidate for orthotics.
Specific conditions that may be alleviated by orthotics include achilles tendonitis,
arch pain, metetarsalgia, neuroma, sesamoiditis, and heel pain.
Since the feet are the foundation of the upper body, the new alignment provided
by orthotics often helps alleviate problems in other parts of the body such as the knees or lower back.
